Occupational Therapy (OT) services address self-care needs, activities of daily living, and the developmental or functional needs of a child. Occupational therapy works on improving performance in fine motor skills, social skills, cognitive skills, visual-perceptual skills, handwriting skills, sensory awareness and integration, muscle reeducation, and postural development.

Physical Therapy (PT) services are provided in order to develop, improve, and/or restore neuro-muscular and sensory-motor function. Physical therapy works on improving strength, endurance, flexibility, gait, and postural deviations to attain maximum performance.

Speech and Language Pathology (ST) services focus on addressing communication skills and the oral skills necessary for breathing, eating, and swallowing. Speech therapy can assist with improving cognitive skills including problem solving and memory deficits that affect the ability to communicate.

Respiratory Therapy (RT)
services work on inhalation/exhalation, lung capacity, breathing techniques, diaphragmatic exercises, oxygenation, respiratory rehabilitation, and breathing exercises, along with improving pulmonary functions.


Your child may qualify for therapy services if he/she demonstrates any of the following:
• difficulty with dressing
• difficulty with feeding
• difficulty with basic concepts
• poor handwriting
• difficulty standing, walking, running
• loss of balance / incoordination
• muscular weakness
• poor vocabulary
• excessive drooling
• difficulty chewing / swallowing
• difficulty breathing
